This spread is also from the book Tarot Wisdom by Rachael Pollack.
I found this spread harder, as putting theory to practice often is.
1) What is magic for me? Queen of cups.
2) How does magic act in my life? Knight of swords.
3) Where do I look for magic? Page of swords.
4) How do I find it? 8 of cups.
5) How do I use it? 4 of wands.
6) How can I become a magician? King of swords.
7) What will it mean to me? Fool.
What I found particularly hard to interpret were the King of swords in position 6 and the Fool in position 7.
Queen of cups. Magic for me is intuition, sensitivity, receptivity, the dream world and instinct and unpredictability.
Knight of swords. Magic acts in my life through flashes of insight and clarity.
Magic comes through sudden changes that force me to face an issue on the spot, reacting quickly.
Page of swords. I look for magic all around me. By being aware of my surroundings.
8 of cups. I find magic by expanding my horizons. By pushing my boundaries. I find it on my own journey. Leaving behind some of my valued and treasured beliefs.
4 of wands. I use magic by celebrating it and using it everyday in my actions as well as in my interactions.
King of swords. This one is tough. I become a magician by being sharp and discerning. By cutting through confusion. By owning my knowledge. By being assertive, clear and direct. By showing confidence and determination. By grounding and protecting myself. This king wears a full armor.
What will it mean to me (to be a magician)? Fool.
This one also is hard to interpret, as the Fool and the Magician are so similar and yet so different.
It will mean trusting my inner knowing. Daring to be different at times.
Taking leaps of faith and go through life and experiences with an open mind and without personal attachment/ identification. In other words, being a magician to me will mean living fully in the now with a carefree attitude, without taking anything personally. In combination with the King of swords, I get the feeling that to be a magician require a thick skin.
I will have to reflect on this one.
What do you think? Any comment/ ideas?
