I highly recommend Will You Give Me a Reading? by Jenna Matlin, to anyone reading for others, or planning to.

In my opinion this book is for those who already know the meaning of the cards, but wish to improve their fluency, or understand the roles of a Tarot reader better.

Years ago I read Have Tarot Will Party, also by Matlin, which I enjoyed immensely.

There are a lot of Tarot books on the market, and I have read many, but the books geared to professional Tarot readers are rare.

Actually, let me clarify this point.

The vast majority of Tarot books are geared toward beginners. A much smaller percentage of books aims to deepen the understanding of Tarot. Few writers attempt to teach the business side of reading Tarot.

Matlin is one of those. I appreciate her work because she is a professional Tarot reader herself and therefore she has encountered the many aspects of the business she writes about.

I find her style practical, direct, and entertaining at the same time.

My favourite chapters in her book are:

• Half the Work Is in the Question
• Layering Tarot Techniques
• Court Cards Are People Too
• This Is Why Court Cards Are Hard

Don’t get me wrong, the entire book is full of great content. As an example; What to Do When a Reading Goes Wrong, contains extremely valuable information. I simply listed some of the chapters I personally enjoyed most.
