Card for the day: King of Pentacles.
Another successful Tarot party.
Hello there!
Last night I had the pleasure to do another successful Tarot party.
I had the privilege to read for eight amazing ladies. I had a great time working with these young, fun, and welcoming women.
Tarot parties can add some excitement and fun to any gathering.
Are you planning to host a birthday party, a stag and doe, new years eve, or a girl’s night in ?
Give me a call, I will be happy to explain how it works.
The Witches’Ball
The Highly anticipated Witches’ Ball was a success and I had a great time.
Two hours of fast Tarot readings for fun, amazing ladies.
The mood at the beautiful Elora Brewery was full of excitement.
Everyone working or attending the event was encouraged to dress up for the occasion, which gave me the perfect excuse to buy a new, fun Halloween costume.
I am very grateful to Kathie Cher of Ruby Sage Inspiration for the soul for organizing the event.
I had a wonderful time meeting the clients and the other readers.
Walking to the car after the event I couldn’t help but notice the beauty of Elora at night, gracefully decked for Halloween. It felt magical.
My review of Advanced Tarot by Paul Fenton-Smith
Here is my review of Advanced Tarot
An in- depth guide to practical and intuitive tarot reading by Paul Fenton -Smith.
Paul Fenton – Smith is a well known Clairvoyant, Tarot reader, writer and teacher in Australia.
This is a massive book, 556 pages!
Surprisingly it is a nice, easy and entertaining read, full with valuable information.
The author explains the cards by dividing them in groups of the same number, then the Court cards divided by ranks, and finally the Major Arcana.
I agree with the method as it makes it easier to remember the information when you can lean on a basic understanding of Numerology and Elements.
Something else I like about Fenton- Smith style is that it is relaxed and cordial , as he teaches symbols, numbers , suits, and ranks. He gives plenty of examples.
He also provides several Tarot spreads, my favourite being The Seven-Card Layout.
I have now used it many times and it has proven to be a very reliable spread for prediction.
Something I appreciate is that the author, who has a Diploma in counselling, doesn’t shy away from divination.
In the book he explains Tarot reversals very well.
I have already endorsed this book with former Tarot students and I believe that anyone passionate about Tarot would benefit from reading it.
I am truly enjoying my copy.
Offering Reiki again.
Hi everyone.
I am offering Reiki again. I know it has been a while, since the beginning of the pandemic, to be exact.
Anyway, yesterday I gave my first treatment and it was beautiful to be holding that amazingly peaceful space again.
I am glad to be back, with obvious precautions of course.
Tarot parties are back!
I am very happy to say that Tarot parties are back on my list of services.
The pandemic had put a stop to that for a very long time.
Well, as you can probably tell from the photo we took at the end of the party, or at least to the Tarot portion of it, we all had a wonderful time.
All the ladies were amazing, not all of them are in the picture. It was my absolute privilege working with them all, they had great energy.
I would like to thank them for giving me permission to share the photo, I appreciate it.
Take away from this post? Tarot can be a great addition to a party. Many precautions were taken given that COVID-19 is still with us, but life is short and Summer is even shorter.
I want to build more happy memories to sustain me through the long Winter and this one was a great start.
More information on how to book a Tarot party with me can be found here Why do I like Tarot parties? and here Services & Fees
Reading for oneself.
I often hear that reading for oneself should be avoided.
I would like to know why.
If you are a dress maker should you not make your own clothes and alterations?
If you are a painter should you hire someone else to paint the walls in your house?
I personally don’t think so.
I read for myself all the time because I appreciate the wisdom I get from the cards.
Also, reading for myself regularly gives me accurate and reliable feed back.
By comparing the cards and my interpretation of them with what actually happened is extremely helpful.
It goes well beyond bolstering my confidence when I got it right, it helps me learn from my mistakes. There are times when in retrospect I can see how the cards were spot on, but their message was lost in translation.
Tarot readers know that each card has many meanings and that we have to find the one that correctly applies to the question, and in the contest of the surrounding cards. It is not an easy job.
Consider that what is taught about the cards is often very spiritual, but what we ask of them is often quite mundane.
It is by regular practice and feed back that we become more accurate at interpreting the everyday wisdom we seek.
I always encourage and appreciate clients feed back, but I cannot learn from it to the same degree. I am happy when I hear a client say that I helped them assess a situation wisely, but by then I have forgotten the cards, and the ideas and feelings that accompanied them.
There are times when I seek the advice of another reader.
When my questions are about situations that will affect me or my family in a profound way and for a long time, I book an appointment with someone who has no knowledge of my personal situation, and has no skin in the game. In other words, I look for someone who can be objective.
Don’t misunderstand me. I am not saying that in those situations reading for oneself is wrong. I simply suggest you seek a second opinion.
Halloween Reflections.
I woke up in a reflective mood this morning.
At this time of the year, when the change of season is all around us, it becomes easy for me to feel the need to slow down and ponder.
November 1st growing up was the time when my family and I would go to the cemetery to pay respect to the loved ones we had lost.
There we would run into plenty of relatives and our bonds would be re energized.
Around this time of the year, I like to remember those I loved and miss.
During my Halloween reflections I like to ponder on how I have changed and grown through the years.
Today I tried a new Tarot spread I found on http://www.interrobangtarot.com
It is called The Samhain Tarot Spread.
It only requires six cards, but I found it very effective.
What is your favorite spread to use at this time of year?
My review of the Giant Rider-Waite Tarot deck.
My review of the Giant Rider-Waite Tarot deck.
I have bought my Giant Rider-Waite Tarot deck because I thought it would come in handy when teaching Tarot classes.
What I had not anticipated it is how helpful this deck is when studying, reflecting or meditating on the cards.
Given the size of this deck the pictures are much bigger therefore it becomes easy to notice details that had not caught my eyes before.
I highly recommend it.
