Reflecting on ten years in business.

In January 2019 Wisdom and Healing reached the important milestone of ten years in business.

Mind you, I had been on the Tarot path for twenty two years before I felt ready to read for strangers and charge them for my interpretation.

What can I say? I am a Virgo. I was a perfectionist and the last thing I wanted to do was to embarrass myself.

True to be told, I was young when I took my first Tarot course.
At the time I was busy living, exploring and having fun.
My deck followed me wherever I went, but I was perfectly fine not touching the cards for months.

It was somewhere around the mid 1990’s that I became serious in my Tarot studies.

By January 2009 I had recently moved to my current home and I was finally ready to call myself a Tarot reader.

I remember how nervous I was reading for my first paying client.

He was a total stranger. I remember trying to put a positive spin on the 10 of Swords. I was not ready yet to give bad news.
I am fairly positive I did not answer correctly that specific question, but I believe the reading overall was good and helpful.
Of course I have changed and grown a lot over the last ten years.

I used to read only for specific questions. Now I can and do general readings also.

I now use reversals. I struggled with them for a very long time.

I am happy to have been brave enough to embrace my passion for Tarot.

I have met many wonderful people along the way and I have grown a lot.

Now I do my best to share what I know and I remain open to learn more each and every day.

I am very grateful to my clients and students.

The Eight of Wands.

Has the energy fizzled out of a project? End it.

A word of caution. Avoid making last minute changes to jobs that are well on their way. They could cause ripple effects out of your control.

In the Gaian Tarot the Guardian of Fire is the equivalent of the Queen of Wands in other decks.

The Guardian of Fire (Queen of Wands)guides us through the week of January 21-27 2019.

In the Gaian Tarot the energy of this queen is expressed through the Guardian of Fire.

This is the person in charge of keeping the fire going at parties and gatherings.

It is an important task requiring good judgment.

Queens or Guardians are about :

nurturing,
managing,
relating,
expressing,
creating.

The element of Wands is fire, which is concerned with:

beliefs,
motives,
creativity,
activity,
competing,
expressing,
moving,
courage,
passion,
attraction.

The presence of the Queen of Wands tells me that this week is not going to be boring.

The week has the potential to be very active, social, inspiring and fun.

You will have the opportunity to:

be physically active,
travel,
have a good time,
socialize,
be creative,
inspire,
cheer people up,
motivate,
be warm,
be affectionate,
promote,
get things done.

King of Pentacles.

Elder of Earth from the Gaian Tarot deck

The card for the week of January 14 to 20 2019 is the King of Pentacles.

In the deck I am using, Gaian Tarot, that corresponds to the Elder of Earth.

With the Elder (king) of Earth (Pentacles) guiding us this week, we are in good hands.

We will be dealing well with practical matters.

The King of Pentacles is about:

good management,
reliability,
good health,
skills,
abundance,
prosperity.

All kings are about:

culmination,
resolution,
authority,
experience,
leadership,
directing,
ruling.

With Pentacles we are in the element of earth, which is about:

health,
the body,
work,
steady effort,
stability,
skills,
money,
property.

This week we will efficiently and wisely take care of business.

There could be important resolutions concerning savings, real estate and other big financial decisions.

There is a sense of peace of mind in the area of health, studies, work, finance and stability in general.

The advice for the week is :

avoid procrastination,
do what you can each day,
think long term,
understand that quality takes time,
take your responsibilities seriously,
take good care of your self and of those who depend on you,
set a good example,
be open, constructive and reasonable,
appreciate what you have.

Relax a bit and enjoy each day. You are doing your best and you know what you are doing.

The Sun reversed.

The Sun reversed is the card guiding us through the week of January 7 to the 13 2019.

The Sun is Major Arcanum 19 and therefore it reduces to 10 (The Wheel of Fortune) and to 1 (The Magician).

The Sun is a beautiful card. Being reversed its positive energy is present, but off balance. We may have too much of it or very little.

The card brings joy, vitality, exuberance, enthusiasm, innocence and passion.

We are in the element of fire, which brings creativity, confidence, intensity and action.

1+9 = 10 We have the result of the journey from 1 to 9.

The Wheel of Fortune usually brings sudden changes, shifts of fortune and a sense of destiny taking over. It comes up at those times when we are in the right place at the right time or in the wrong place at the wrong time. You can feel life speeding up.

1+0 = 1 The Magician.

This is a card that speaks of new ideas. Having a vision and the skills or tools to make it a reality. It is a card of strong potential that needs to be supported by hard work. It also represents manipulating people’s attention in a specific direction.

With the Sun reversed
you might be dealing with a new awareness.

The shining light reveals all that was previously hidden.
Such light might be tentatively starting to come in , or it might be so strong that you feel blinded by it.

There is progress. It may be slow, or so fast that you are having trouble keeping up with it.

You are also dealing with joy. Perhaps you are starting to feel more confident about the adventure you are on, or you start feeling out of control and burn out is a possibility.

Given that the energy of the Wheel of Fortune is also at work, I suggest you try going with the flow.

Don’t waste your precious energy trying to steer the course right now. Wait for the currents of change to settle. Figure out where you now stand, reassess your direction and use the energy of the Magician to figure out your goal and work toward it.

Welcome to 2019

which is a Universal year 3.

In Tarot language 2019 is the year of the Hanged man (12) and the Empress (3).

What does it all mean?

In Numerology when we talk about Universal year, we speak about the opportunities and the challenges coming at a world level.

By contrast, a Personal year is about you.

As I have written in the past, think of the Universal year like the ocean and the personal year like your own little island in it.

By 2019 being a Universal year 3, we should see some progress.

The opportunity is there to lift up the collective mood and play nicely.

Communication improves, as well as creativity.

Let’s bring in the cards to look deeper.

The Hanged Man from Universal Tarot.

The Hanged Man, Major Arcanum 12, suggests that progress will come at a slow pace.

It is a year that requires patience, the willingness to sacrifice and to wait things out.

The Hanged Man can also bring us the opportunity to change course.

When we take the time to truly observe, listen and reflect, we may surprisingly shift perspective and subsequently change our plans and direction.
