Halloween parties and Tarot.

October 2, 2017 by Anna

Here we are in October. Ontario at this time of the year is stunning. The colours in the parks and the forests are simply beautiful.

The weather so far is mild and sunny, perfect for long walks.

As we all know, there is a lot of suffering going on at this time between natural disasters and human madness. We can all benefit from spending some time in nature, grounding ourselves and restoring calm and hope for the future.

Next week end will be Thanks Giving in Canada. I was born and raised in Italy, so it is not a holiday I grew up with. I don’t do much to celebrate it, but I do stop to reflect and give thanks for all that is good in my life. We all take so much for granted.

On October 22nd I will host another Playing with Tarot meeting. I do that once a month. You can find the details here Playing with Tarot

Halloween this year comes on a Tuesday. So I imagine Halloween parties will be spread around the week end and the actual day.

I like Halloween. A time of the year when everyone seems more accepting of magic.

I like the opportunity to dress up and pretend to be someone else.

I like to see the kids, big and small, go door to door in their costumes.

I often work for Halloween because I do Tarot parties. They add excitement to any gathering and I find that Halloween parties and Tarot fit together beautifully.

Are you hosting a party this Halloween? Call me at (519) 400-2117, text me, or contact me here https://wisdomandhealing.ca/contact/ and let’s have some fun.

As always, thanks for reading and take care.

The Devil is orange!

January 21, 2017 by Anna

The Devil from Radiant- Rider -Waite

The Devil card came up in my daily Tarot reading today.

I decided to reflect on it. I started by coloring an image of the card. The next step was to  read what the author of the book I am using had to say about it.

It was not long before I noticed, for the first time, that the Devil in the Radiant R.W.S. deck is orange!

Let it sink for a moment, or two.

By the way, the book I am working with is Living Tarot by Amber Jayanti.

The process made me smile. Tarot cards have a great sense of humor.

Playing with Tarot with a focus on travel and vacations.

Playing with Tarot with a focus on travel and vacations

Playing with Tarot with a focus on travel and vacations.

As some of you know, I am the host of the Meet Up Guelph Tarot and Energy Healing Group and I host Playing with Tarot meetings once a month.

In those meetings Tarot enthusiasts get together to ask questions, offer suggestions and read the cards.

It is a collaborative effort aimed at deepening our knowledge of Tarot while having fun.

In my opinion, new Tarot students often make learning harder than it has to be.
I certainly did. It is not all about memorization, it is also about paying attention and opening to the process.

Over thinking can block the intuitive process. I find thinking aloud helps.

One important step in learning Tarot is in becoming familiar with the cards. Playing with them is a great way to do that.

With that in mind I suggest a simple fun exercise.

I write this as we approach the end of June. Travel and vacations are on the mind of many.

I suggest you pick your deck and flip through the cards. Look for images that make you think of travel or leisure time.

Jot down just a few words for each. Do not over think it. Have fun with it.

Don’t look at my list until you have done your own.
Did you find any similarities?
Do you have very different interpretations than mine?
Did you have eureka ideas for different cards?

Share it with me. I would love to know. Please do not forget to write the name of the deck you are using.

I am using the Universal Tarot deck.

Tarot readings by phone and Playing with Tarot.

May 19, 2015 by Anna

Hello everyone.

After about a week of gorgeous weather, the sky has turned grey and the temperature has dropped.
I have been gardening like crazy and I must say that we need rain.
The soil is very dry.

I am enjoying my new office and I cannot wait to show it to you.
Be aware that it is now on the first floor. If you have difficulties climbing stairs please let me know when you book your appointment and I will set up for you on the main floor.

Tarot reading by phoneLately I have been doing more Tarot readings over the phone and I must say I like them.

In person readings are my favourite, but phone readings work well too.

I like readings by phone because the energy of the client travels beautifully through his/her voice.

I also like them because they are very easy to schedule around my day and my family.
Phone readings are easier to schedule for odd hours appointments, or to fit a short reading in a busy day.

So, if you are hesitant about having a Tarot reading done over the phone, relax, it can be just as good.

Last, but not least, my next Tarot share is coming up.
The meeting is open to anyone wanting to learn more about Tarot or wanting to share his/ her knowledge. Playing with Tarot are not formal classes. They are a time to connect with others who love Tarot. Two hours to talk and read Tarot together.
The date is Sunday, May 24. For the time and more info visit The Meet Up Guelph Tarot and Energy Healing group.

Thank you for your time. Be well.

3 of swords

March 17, 2015 by Anna

Legacy of the Divine Tarot deck

Legacy of the Divine Tarot deck

Today I am going to write about the 3 of swords from the Legacy of the Divine Tarot deck by Ciro Marchetti.

3 is about group energy and therefore relations and interactions.

The Swords suit is Air, which rules matters of communication, strategy, thinking and strife.

Looking at the card I notice that only half of the face is showing.
We only have half of the picture.

I find this extremely interesting.
In most cases when there is a disagreement between two people we find out they have different versions of the same story.

We all process situations through the lenses of our personal beliefs, emotions, culture and life experience.

Next I notice the eye. It is blue, like my son’s eyes. At this moment we are upset with each other.

The person in the card is sad. A tear crosses the heart tattoo on her cheek, making it look like it is split in two.

The three swords floating in the air are located at the height of the eye, the ear and the mouth.
What we see, what we hear and what we say is a source of pain.

The hair is tightly braided. Those braids remind me of ropes and therefore bonds.

It is a fact that those we love can hurt us the most.
Why? Because they know us and because they matter to us.

Sometime the pain we inflict on others is accidental. We did not do it on purpose.
Other times we strike intentionally, particularly when we are hurt. We want to spread the pain around.

What can we learn from this card?

Relations are fragile. Words are powerful and should be used with care.

Pain is a heavy energy. It is not wise or kind to spread it around.

Two wrongs don’t make it right.

Playing with Tarot.

May 8, 2014 by Anna

three_cupsWhat is Playing with Tarot?

An opportunity to come together with other people who love Tarot.

Why?

To have fun, share what you know, ask questions, offer answers, share your experience with Tarot ( the good and the bad).  Learning Tarot is not easy and it is often a lonely pursuit, but it does not have to be that way.  Spending time with people who share your passion for Tarot will help you grow faster as a reader, it will keep you motivated and avoid burn out.

Playing with Tarot are meetings where you can show off your new Tarot deck, or perhaps view one you are considering buying. It is a time where you can suggest a new Tarot book you just read and loved, or ask others what they think of a Tarot book you are curious about. Here is where you can discuss a card you are having a hard time understanding. It is a place where you can try new Tarot spreads side by side with other Tarot readers.  See where you differ in interpretations and explore why.

Playing with Tarot are not Tarot classes. The meetings do not follow a lesson plan. Here we learn by doing and from each other. I, as well as other readers in Guelph, teach. Let me know if you want me to teach you. I will put you in my students waiting list and contact you next time I offer my classes.

How did I come up with the idea?

After having been contacted several times by people who wanted my help learning Tarot without committing to my Tarot classes. I do not mind helping, but I believe in healthy boundaries and guidelines.

Please do not contact me through my custom form unless you want to book an appointment.

Check the blog section of my web site. Under Pondering you will find lots of my reflections on Tarot. My most recent posts are also on my face book page. If the topic of your question has not been already answered in one of my posts, please ask me on my face book page or at one of the meetings.

Last but not least, I host The Guelph Tarot and Energy Healing Group through Meet Up. You can join for free and meet lots of other people with similar interests. Once a month I host Playing with Tarot meetings. If you join the group  you will be notified any time a meeting is scheduled.

Playing with Tarot meetings are also a way for me to keep in touch with my former Tarot students and offer them practical support.
