Six of Wands

September 23, 2019 by Anna

Six of Wands from Everyday Witch Tarot

The Six of Wands guides us through the week of September 23 to 29 2019.

It is a great card to see, because it usually means that good news are on the way.

Did you go through a series of stressful interviews for a job or promotion?
Congratulations, you got it.

Are you involved in some sport competition? You will do great.

Are you promoting something or an event? You will have a great turn out.

Are you an artist? You will be very creative and inspired.

Were you involved in some kind of argument or battle ? If you stood up bravely for you beliefs and for your self, you won or you are about to.

The Six of Wands rewards those who lead the way, make their own path, work hard, are resilient, courageous, innovative and play fair.

For some this card will bring a promotion, recognition, even fame.
You are liked and you are in the spotlight.

When you see this card be confident, lead the way toward success and be generous. Remember those who helped you along the way. Give them some credit and share with them some of your good fortune.

Ace of Cups

August 20, 2019 by Anna

Ace of Cups from Everyday Witch.

The Ace of Cups guides us through the week of August 19th to 25th 2019.

All aces are gifts taking the form expressed by their element.

The suit of Cups corresponds to the element of water.

The primary concern of Water are matters of the heart;
meaning love, friendship, compassion, empathy and intuition.

Water is passive, gentle. It prefers to go around obstacles.
Water invites you to go with the flow, find common ground, observe, listen, reflect and always listen to your heart.

In Numerology the ace is a 1, as such the ace is like a seed that with proper care will grow strong and produce abundantly.

What can you expect from this week?

You could make new friends.

You could start a new romantic relationship.

You may fall in love.

You may deepen your commitment to a loved one.

You may find yourself happier, more intuitive and in tune with those around you.

It is a good time for artistic expression.

What does the Ace of Cups suggest?

Avoid conflict.

Be compassionate.

Be aware about how you feel about a situation, but imagine how others are feeling about it too.

Open your heart to love, friendship, peace and to the beauty around you.

This ace invites you to be kind, gentle, to go with the flow, to embrace each moment as it comes along.

Is your heart open?

Can you give and receive love?

Are you at peace with yourself?

Can you forgive someone?

Can you make peace with what you cannot change?

To sum it up, the Ace of Cups is a beautiful omen for the week.

Be open to love, friendship, peace and joy.

Halloween parties and Tarot.

October 2, 2017 by Anna

Here we are in October. Ontario at this time of the year is stunning. The colours in the parks and the forests are simply beautiful.

The weather so far is mild and sunny, perfect for long walks.

As we all know, there is a lot of suffering going on at this time between natural disasters and human madness. We can all benefit from spending some time in nature, grounding ourselves and restoring calm and hope for the future.

Next week end will be Thanks Giving in Canada. I was born and raised in Italy, so it is not a holiday I grew up with. I don’t do much to celebrate it, but I do stop to reflect and give thanks for all that is good in my life. We all take so much for granted.

On October 22nd I will host another Playing with Tarot meeting. I do that once a month. You can find the details here Playing with Tarot

Halloween this year comes on a Tuesday. So I imagine Halloween parties will be spread around the week end and the actual day.

I like Halloween. A time of the year when everyone seems more accepting of magic.

I like the opportunity to dress up and pretend to be someone else.

I like to see the kids, big and small, go door to door in their costumes.

I often work for Halloween because I do Tarot parties. They add excitement to any gathering and I find that Halloween parties and Tarot fit together beautifully.

Are you hosting a party this Halloween? Call me at (519) 400-2117, text me, or contact me here https://wisdomandhealing.ca/contact/ and let’s have some fun.

As always, thanks for reading and take care.

What Reiki can do for you.

May 27, 2017 by Anna

Illustration of silhouette of woman in meditation with aura and chakras. Theme of healing energy, connection between the body and soul.

Reiki is a Japanese form of hands on healing.

It is very easy to learn and it can be very helpful in every day life.

Most of our health problems come from stress.

Reiki is a very gentle and effective way to release stress.

The concept behind it is that we are energy.  We are surrounded by energy and that becoming more aware of it helps everyone.

We have a magnetic field or aura that protects us and helps us interact with our surroundings. The energy moves constantly.

Energy like fear, grief and anger are heavy energy and tend to get stuck, which slows down the free flow of energy in our magnetic field.

When that happens we are weaker and not functioning at our best.

A Reiki session can help us relax and release such energy.

The session is done fully clothed and it feels very nurturing. It can help anyone who is dealing with anger, grief, stress, anxiety or experiencing problems sleeping. Reiki is also helpful to people who are sick and weak.
It helps alleviate pain and restore energy and peace of mind.
Reiki is not a substitute for medical care, but it supports it beautifully.

Reiki is not a religion.

In Usui Reiki practitioners are invited to reflect on the following ideals.

Just for today

don’t get angry,

don’t worry,

be grateful,

work hard and

be kind to others.

Playing with Tarot with a focus on travel and vacations.

June 28, 2016 by Anna

Playing with Tarot with a focus on travel and vacations

Playing with Tarot with a focus on travel and vacations.

As some of you know, I am the host of the Meet Up Guelph Tarot and Energy Healing Group and I host Playing with Tarot meetings once a month.

In those meetings Tarot enthusiasts get together to ask questions, offer suggestions and read the cards.

It is a collaborative effort aimed at deepening our knowledge of Tarot while having fun.

In my opinion, new Tarot students often make learning harder than it has to be.
I certainly did. It is not all about memorization, it is also about paying attention and opening to the process.

Over thinking can block the intuitive process. I find thinking aloud helps.

One important step in learning Tarot is in becoming familiar with the cards. Playing with them is a great way to do that.

With that in mind I suggest a simple fun exercise.

I write this as we approach the end of June. Travel and vacations are on the mind of many.

I suggest you pick your deck and flip through the cards. Look for images that make you think of travel or leisure time.

Jot down just a few words for each. Do not over think it. Have fun with it.

Don’t look at my list until you have done your own.
Did you find any similarities?
Do you have very different interpretations than mine?
Did you have eureka ideas for different cards?

Share it with me. I would love to know. Please do not forget to write the name of the deck you are using.

I am using the Universal Tarot deck.

10 of pentacles
Spending holidays with family and relatives.
Visiting museums or cities rich of history.

3 of cups
Socializing, dancing, vacationing with friends. Travelling to attend celebrations like weddings and bachelorette’s parties. Week ends away with friends.

9 of cups
The trip of a life time. A graduation trip. A wine tour. A vacation with a focus on food, drinks or pampering.

Sun.
Travel to places you have not seen before. A vacation in a warm place. Horse riding tours. A school trip. Taking time to travel after graduation and before starting college or university.

10 of cups
Vacations spent relaxing at home. Having house guests during the holidays. Family vacations or to places kids oriented.

5 of pentacles.
Unpleasant travel as in the case of people fleeing their homeland. Unpleasant time away from home due to illness, injury, unexpected expenses or just not fitting in.

9 of pentacles
Relaxing at home or in the country side. Time spent in nature. Gardening. Taking time for ourselves.

Wheel of fortune

Unexpected, unplanned travel. A lucky unexpected invitation. Winning a free vacation.

Well planned travel by car, train or bus.

Telling stories using Tarot cards. Part 2.

February 22, 2016 by Anna

I hope you enjoyed my previous post.

If you have not read it, you can find it here Telling stories using Tarot cards. Part 1.

I am trying to teach those of you who are learning Tarot how to recognize the energy of the cards in everyday living.

In Telling Stories using Tarot cards, I write about my life and then select some cards to tell the same story.

In the past couple of months I have had some small health issues.

First, I suddenly developed a pain in my left ankle that quickly got worse, ending up limiting my mobility. The strange thing was that I had not fallen, dropped anything on it. In other words I did not know why I was in pain.
It took me over a couple of months to identify the problem and take the necessary actions, but I am much better now and on my way back to an active lifestyle.

As soon as my ankle got better I came down with a very nasty cold, which is not over yet.
Just as I was fighting the cold I started to experience an increase of calls from new potential clients looking to book Reiki sessions.
If you are familiar with energy, you know that you do not want to go in people’s energy field when you are contagious. Needless to say I had to turn clients down. Hopefully I will work with them as soon as I am better.

I am going now to quickly select the cards to tell the story.
See if they make sense to you. We could use other cards, but these resonated with me.
Again I am using the Legacy of the Divine Tarot deck by Ciro Marchetti.

Telling stories using Tarot cards. Part 2

4 of swords. That is me feet up on the couch going nowhere.

Hermit. I finally decide to seek answers and figure out the source of the pain and why I am not getting better.

Queen of pentacles. She is the lovely specialist that explained my arch problem to me in a way that I could understand. She was also very approachable and kind. She generously suggested many practical and cheap strategies to solve my issues.

The Ace of swords is the clear picture and strategy I was offered.

The 6 of swords is me slowly healing and applying the suggestions given to me. I am not fully recovered yet, but I am heading in the right direction.

Now let’s look at the second set of cards.

Telling stories using Tarot cards. Part 2.

4 of swords again. The cold sucks the vitality out of me.
Page of swords. I receive calls and messages.
6 of pentacles. The news are about exchange of Energy in the form of Reiki sessions.
Notice how fittingly the scale of the 6 of coins stands between the messages (page) and the 10 of wands, me feeling overwhelmed.
The 7 of wands is me taking the high ground. I am not well. It would not be good for me or my clients to be in very close proximity through a Reiki session.
The lady in the card well shows me denying access to clients and to germs.
The Hanged Man is me asking my clients to wait for their appointments, to give me a chance to heal first.

I hope you enjoyed the process. Feel free to tell me if you would have used different cards and why.
